Ryan attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated with a B.A. in Music and a minor in Business Administration. Since moving to New York City in 2009, he has toured throughout the East Coast playing with bands like 2/3 Goat, Aaron LaVigne and the Downtown Crowd, and Pie Boys, and opened for Grammy-nominated singer Joss Stone with the TJ Moss Band at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK. Ryan has been featured playing a variety of instruments on seven albums and EPs, most recently Aaron LaVigne’s EP “Call Your Mom,” released in Fall 2013. In addition to a regular performing schedule, Ryan teaches guitar, piano and violin at the Manhattan and Queens locations of the New York City Guitar School.

Ryan’s time spent touring in the Carolinas led him to a relationship with Flat Rock Playhouse, just outside of Hendersonville, North Carolina. He helped develop their “Music on the Rock” series, which evolved from a small concert series to a highly anticipated musical tribute series that is housed at the theatre’s new downtown space. At Flat Rock Playhouse Ryan has been fortunate enough to play a wide variety of genres and styles and serve as music director for some of the shows in addition to performing.
